Music can affect us all-calm us, animate us, comfort us, thrill us, or serve to organise and synchronise us at work or play.

What Does Music Therapy Look Like?
Music therapy focuses on the positive health outcomes that can occur between you and the music and within a therapeutic relationship with the music therapist. Assessment and planning around music preferences, needs and goals are at the heart of each session.
At Safe and Sound, music therapy approaches may include:
Therapeutic songwriting
Singing and playing instruments in a group, or 1:1 with the music therapist
Listening to and talking about music
Active music making and listening to promote memories and reminisce
Music and movement to enhance physical wellbeing and recovery
Developing music listening routines to promote relaxation
Creating music resources like intentional playlists to aid sleep, decrease anxiety and support mood regulation
